By Rev. Yareni AlvaradoAs the saying goes, "there's a first time for everything!" On Sunday, August 28th, 2022 at Redlands Community College at the Darlington Chapel in El Reno OK, I married a lovely couple. The couple requested to not have a social media presence of their wedding day. This was a first for me along with other vendors that were part of the wedding as well and it was quite the sight to see.
For their wedding ceremony, it was an unplugged ceremony. Guests were instructed to not have their phones out so guests could be present during their wedding ceremony. It was like being back in the 90’s before smartphones were around. This unplugged wedding ceremony was romantic and one-of-a-kind. Everyone attending was solely focused on the couple saying their own unique vows to one another. Emotions ran high as there was not a dry eye in sight! It was like time stopped for these two individuals to say their loving words that united them in holy matrimony. This wedding ceremony will always be remembered for the way two people chose to get married - in this day in age of social media. Best wishes to the happy couple! Sidenote: *The newlywed couple requested to remain anonymous.
