By Rev. Yareni AlvaradoCelebrating Bianca and Guadalupe: A Beautiful Union of CulturesOn a radiant day at Rancho Pegaso in Pocola, Oklahoma, I had the honor of officiating the wedding of Bianca and Guadalupe, a stunning Salvadoran-Mexican couple. Surrounded by 100 of their closest family and friends, they celebrated their love in a ceremony that beautifully blended two rich cultures. Bianca and Guadalupe’s story began in 2019 when they met and became fast friends. Friendship blossomed into love, and by 2020 they were officially a couple. Bianca knew early on that Guadalupe was the one for her. In 2021, during a romantic trip to Miami, FL, she proposed, setting the stage for this unforgettable wedding day. The ceremony was set against the backdrop of a heart-shaped arch, elegantly adorned with white roses. It was a perfect representation of the love that brought everyone together. Bianca and Guadalupe honored their cultural roots by incorporating the traditional lazo and arras into their ceremony, symbolizing unity and the sharing of their new life together. They also shared custom vows, adding a personal and heartfelt touch to the ceremony. To add a bit of levity to the event, the DJ played a TikTok video featuring a priest humorously explaining the significance of the lazo tradition in Mexican culture. It was a light-hearted moment that brought laughter and joy to everyone present. It was truly an honor to travel from Oklahoma City to be part of such a special day. Bianca and Guadalupe’s wedding was a beautiful reminder of the power of love to bring together different cultures, creating a tapestry of traditions, joy, and unity. Review from brides Bianca and Guadalupe: "We couldn't be happier with how our wedding ceremony turned out! Every detail was perfect, from the heart-shaped arch to the incorporation of our traditions. The lazo and arras ceremony was so meaningful, and our custom vows made the day feel uniquely ours. We loved the fun touch with the TikTok video—it lightened the mood and added some laughter to our special day. Thank you for making our ceremony everything we dreamed of and more!"

So honored to have officiated their elopement! Review from Aracely: "We appreciate you coming to the courthouse to marry us. You made us feel so special on our elopement. Thank you again." By Rev. Yareni AlvaradoAfter 20 years of being together, Guadalupe and Blanca Nieves were finally able to tie the knot! As of October 6, 2014, it is now legal in Oklahoma to allow same-sex marriages. As soon as the law passed to allow same-sex marriages in Oklahoma, Guadalupe rushed to call me and book a date and time to get married. I happily agreed and told them that they would be my first same-sex couple that I'd get to marry in Oklahoma.
The couple traveled from the Dallas metroplex to marry on their anniversary! It was a cold chilly evening with 35 degree temperatures which guests had to come up with ways to stay warm by dancing in place and making jokes. It was such a joyous occasion as everyone was thoroughly excited for Guadalupe and Blanca Nieves to finally be able to get married. It was a very emotional elopement. Tears of joy and disbelief flowed as the couple said their own vows to one another. Love is love. It is an honor to be a part of history by marrying LGBT couples in the state of Oklahoma. Review from Blanca Nieves: "Thank you so much for marrying us! We are so happy that we found you and we will always remember today. We will be referring our LGBT friends for you to marry them as well. Thank you for everything!" |
