By Rev. Yareni AlvaradoJanneth and Kimberly traveled from Austin, TX to marry at Lake Hefner in Oklahoma City, OK.
Janneth is originally from Mexico and Kimberly is originally from Puerto Rico. The couple met online and had a long distance relationship until they both decided to move to Austin, TX together. When they first heard of the law passing for same-sex marriages in Oklahoma they called and had so many questions because they couldn't believe a sex-same couple could finally get married. The couple exchanged heartfelt vows to one another and they were full of joy to have finally married. They both said that they couldn't believe that they could marry the love of their life. It was such a wholesome moment that I will cherish forever. Review from Kimberly: " I can't begin to tell you how happy I am to have married Janneth. We are incredibly happy and will always remember our special day. Thanks so much!"

They have been together for 3 years and as soon as the law passed for same-sex marriages in Oklahoma they began looking for a wedding officiant in Oklahoma City, OK. So honored to have officiated their elopement! Review from Aracely: "We appreciate you coming to the courthouse to marry us. You made us feel so special on our elopement. Thank you again." By Rev. Yareni AlvaradoAfter 20 years of being together, Guadalupe and Blanca Nieves were finally able to tie the knot! As of October 6, 2014, it is now legal in Oklahoma to allow same-sex marriages. As soon as the law passed to allow same-sex marriages in Oklahoma, Guadalupe rushed to call me and book a date and time to get married. I happily agreed and told them that they would be my first same-sex couple that I'd get to marry in Oklahoma.
The couple traveled from the Dallas metroplex to marry on their anniversary! It was a cold chilly evening with 35 degree temperatures which guests had to come up with ways to stay warm by dancing in place and making jokes. It was such a joyous occasion as everyone was thoroughly excited for Guadalupe and Blanca Nieves to finally be able to get married. It was a very emotional elopement. Tears of joy and disbelief flowed as the couple said their own vows to one another. Love is love. It is an honor to be a part of history by marrying LGBT couples in the state of Oklahoma. Review from Blanca Nieves: "Thank you so much for marrying us! We are so happy that we found you and we will always remember today. We will be referring our LGBT friends for you to marry them as well. Thank you for everything!" |
