By Rev. Yareni AlvaradoCan you believe we made it through 2020?
What an emotional rollercoaster of a year it has been. As a wedding officiant, this year it was more evident that love conquers everything, and love overcomes all obstacles. I married couples from all walks of life during a global pandemic. Wearing facemasks, practicing social distancing, and virtual wedding ceremonies became the norm. At the beginning of the pandemic, I was so hesitant to even pursue being a wedding officiant. As I had so many questions and so little answers about COVID-19. I just kept asking myself, “how is life going to be like during a global pandemic?” However, couples still pursued me for my services regardless of being in a pandemic and as I was also healing from some health issues. Despite all those inconveniences, couples still hired me for their special day. I am grateful for the opportunity to be in an industry where I get to witness love on a daily basis. Even when the world feels upside down love is everywhere if you just pause for a moment and take a closer look. For 2021, don’t stop chasing happiness just because it is harder to get a hold of. I am grateful and blessed, that despite a pandemic people are still searching for my services. For now, I have limited availability for 2021 and currently booking through 2022. Lastly, thank you, to my family, friends, and vendors that continue to support me as a wedding officiant. Word of mouth beats social media any given day and I am truly grateful for all the referrals. Into the new year, I will continue practicing being the most amazing bilingual wedding officiant that I am known to be in Oklahoma City, OK. Cheers to 2021!

By Rev. Yareni AlvaradoJJ and Stephanie of Moore, Oklahoma married at Nosh Restaurant in Moore, OK.
JJ and Stephanie decided to get married after being together for 5 years. The couple wanted a custom ceremony that reflected their views along with being able to recite their own vows to one another. Family and friends traveled from the Dallas metro area to join the couple on their special day. Several laptops and Iphones were on various live streams broadcasting their wedding ceremony to family and friends that could not attend the ceremony due to COVID-19. This was definitely a one-of-a-kind virtual wedding ceremony during the pandemic in 2020! Review from groom: "Rev. Alvarado, thank you so much for being so flexible with us. Stephanie and I loved our custom ceremony! We will remember our ceremony for years to come! Thanks again for everything!” By Rev. Yareni AlvaradoLeonardo and Zenaida of Edmond, Oklahoma married at Arcadia Lake in Edmond, OK.
Leonardo and Zenaida wanted an intimate wedding ceremony at the lake. Their wedding ceremony was in Spanish and the couple was excited for someone to do their ceremony in their native language. The wind was not the greatest but the couple pulled through and said their intimate vows to one another. The couple was delighted to finally have tied the knot! Review from bride: "Thank you so much for doing our ceremony in Spanish we looked all over the place and so happy that we found you. Our ceremony was wonderful and will be recommeding you." By Rev. Yareni AlvaradoManny and Monique of Norman, OK married at Northeast Lions Park in Norman, OK.
Manny and Monique tied the knot on a chilly day in October at a wooded area at Northeast Lions Park. It was a secluded area where the couple said their intimate vows to one another. It was so romantic and meaningful that their children jumped for joy once the couple sealed the deal with a kiss. Best wishes to Manny and Monique! Review from bride: “Our wedding ceremony was one of a kind and exactly how we wanted it to be. Thank you for being so flexible with us.” By Rev. Yareni AlvaradoJose and Chelsea of Oklahoma City, OK married at the Lake Hefner Lighthouse in Oklahoma City, OK.
On an incredibly windy day at Lake Hefner, Jose and Chelsea exchanged vows at the Lake Hefner Lighthouse. There were so many laughs on how the wind was picking up everyone's dresses and hair was wildly up in the air. It was pure comedy which made everyone comfortable and relaxed. Despite the crazy wind at Lake Hefner, Jose and Chelsea said their "IDOs" to one another. The couple have recently relocated to OKC and wanted a bilingual ceremony at a popular outdoor setting in the metro area. Lake Hefner never disappoints with its breathtaking views of water and nature. Best wishes to Jose and Chelsea! Review from groom: "We are at a loss of words on how perfect our wedding ceremony turned out. It was personalized and everything we hoped it would be and more. Thank you so much for everything!" By Rev. Yareni AlvaradoChannarong and Danielle of Norman, OK married at Brookhaven Park in Norman, OK.
Channarong and Danielle got married on a sunny Monday morning with the most perfect weather of 75 degrees. There was no wind (which is unheard of in Oklahoma) and the whole setting was like something out of a movie. There were birds chirping, children laughing and playing in the background, and whoever happened to pass by smiled at the couple as they exchanged vows under the gazebo. Channarong is a Buddhist and Danielle is a Christian. The couple requested a custom ceremony that touched on their beliefs yet making each other feel special by including their personal customs into the ceremony. It was a one-of-a-kind Buddhist/Christian wedding ceremony and to date it has been one of the best Monday morning weddings that I have performed! Best wishes to Channarong and Danielle! Review from the groom: " We are so thankful to have found you! We appreciate you so much for coming out to Norman and performing our wedding ceremony!” By Rev. Yareni Alvarado Oscar and Jackie of Oklahoma City, OK married in Yukon, OK.
The young couple had a custom-made wedding ceremony on their ranch that catered to their religious beliefs and customs. COVID-19 changed their original plans of having a big church wedding and instead opted to have their ceremony on the ranch. The groom’s love for horses and his cowboy lifestyle made for a unique setting. The couple were overwhelmed with emotions as they professed their love to one another. It was a heartwarming ceremony that brought their guests to tears. Family members traveled from Mexico and were beyond happy for the couple to have found someone to marry the couple despite circumstances. Best wishes to Oscar and Jackie! Review from the groom: "Thank you for coming out to our ranch and marrying us! Our wedding ceremony turned out better than we could have ever imagined. We will be referring you to all of our family and friends!” By Rev. Yareni AlvaradoI’m back in the office! I am currently booking 2021 weddings.

The young couple wanted to get married first thing in the new year and wanted something intimate, yet short and sweet. I offered a custom Spanish elopement ceremony and they happily agreed to go forth with it. Geovanny and Lizbeth had their closest friends drive down from Ponca City to be present during their nuptials. It was an exciting moment for the newlywed couple and are looking forward to spending many years together happily ever after! Best wishes to Geovanny and Lizbeth! Review from the bride: "We loved everything about our wedding ceremony! Your thoughtful words meant the world to us. Thank you for everything!” |
