As 2025 comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on one of the most beautiful years of my life personally and professionally. This year wasn’t just about officiating weddings; it was about witnessing love in its purest form, creating memories that will last lifetimes, and deepening connections that have grown beyond clients to become family.

This year held so many special moments, but there are a few that truly stand out.

Love That Crosses State Lines
I was honored to marry so many couples who traveled from out of state some coming from far distances just so we could share in the magic of their wedding day. Whether it was a couple flying in for an intimate ceremony or families gathering from different corners of the country, I felt so privileged to be part of their journey.

And it wasn’t just couples traveling to me I also got to travel as well! I had the joy of saying “I do” in cities and states beyond Oklahoma, bringing my heart and my voice to celebrations near and far. Each trip carried its own unique beauty and taught me even more about love, culture, and human connection.

Breathtaking Views & Mountain Top “Yes’s!”
Some of the most unforgettable moments happened in places that took our breath away, literally! Like marrying couples on top of Mount Scott with the wind in our hair and endless sky all around us. These weren’t just ceremonies; they were soulful experiences. They reminded me that love is as vast and expansive as the views we stood before.

A Family Legacy Continues
This year, something incredibly meaningful happened in my own family. My youngest brother David stepped into the world of wedding officiating as a bilingual officiant, continuing our family’s legacy of honoring love in all its forms. Watching him grow into this role with grace, warmth, and professionalism has filled me with pride. It’s beautiful to see our shared passion becoming something that not only brings joy to couples, but also strengthens our family’s legacy in this community.

Couples Who Became Family
Some of the people I married this year didn’t just leave as clients they left as friends. Couples invited me into family gatherings, celebrations, and even holiday dinners. These moments are reminders that this work is more than business; it’s human, it’s personal, and it’s deeply rooted in connection and community.

Looking Forward to 2026
As we welcome 2026, I am filled with gratitude for every couple who trusted me with their love story, their vows, and their most cherished moments. Next year will mark 17 years of performing wedding ceremonies. A milestone I feel so humbled to reach.

I am already booked throughout the year, and I am excited to travel to even more; new places, new landscapes, and new hearts ready to say “I do.”

From the very beginning, it was clear their ceremony would be deeply personal. Instead of keeping their promises just between each other, Kimberly and Jace wrote their own vows, speaking words that perfectly captured the love and respect they share. This month marks 16 years since I stood at the altar for the very first time as a bilingual wedding officiant. What began as a simple desire to help couples express their love in meaningful, personalized ways has blossomed into a calling I’m deeply honored to live every day.

I started with humble beginnings - right out of my own little chapel inside my home on the southside of Oklahoma City. At the time, I was the only bilingual Latina wedding officiant in the Oklahoma City area. There were no examples for me to follow, no blueprint, and very little representation. I simply followed my heart, answered the need in my community, and opened my door (literally) to couples who wanted a ceremony that reflected both their language and their culture.

As a bilingual wedding officiant, I’ve had the unique privilege of uniting people across languages, cultures, and traditions. I’ve stood in front of hundreds of couples - Mexican, Puerto Rican, Salvadoran, Guatemalan, Dominican, Venezuelan, Colombian and so many more! Helping couples far and wide to blend families, faiths, and heritage into one unforgettable moment. Whether we’re weaving in el lazo y las arras, custom vows, or bilingual blessings, each ceremony reflects the truth that love has no borders.

Over the years, I’ve married couples from all walks of life, some that have traveled from out of state for me to marry them, in backyards, at gardens, and under arches draped in white roses. I’ve cried, laughed, danced, and prayed with families. I’ve seen nervous grooms transform into teary-eyed romantics and watched shy brides radiate with confidence as they said “I, do.”

One of the most fulfilling parts of this journey has been standing beside same-sex couples as they boldly and beautifully claim their love. I’ve had the honor of officiating weddings for LGBTQIA+ couples who’ve fought for the right to be seen, heard, and celebrated. It’s been a privilege to help create ceremonies that reflect not only who they love but how they love - with authenticity, pride, and joy. These ceremonies often carry even deeper meaning, and they remind me of why I do this work.

What I’ve learned in these 16 years is this: love is powerful, culture is sacred, and words when spoken from the heart can create moments that last a lifetime.

Este mes se cumplen 16 años desde que me presenté ante el altar por primera vez como oficiante de bodas bilingüe. Lo que comenzó como un simple deseo de ayudar a las parejas a expresar su amor de maneras significativas y personalizadas se ha convertido en una vocación que me honra profundamente vivir cada día.

Comencé con orígenes humildes, desde mi pequeña capilla en mi casa, al sur de Oklahoma City. En aquel entonces, era la única oficiante de bodas latina bilingüe en el área de Oklahoma City. No tenía ejemplos a seguir, ningún modelo a seguir y muy poca representación. Simplemente seguí mi corazón, respondí a la necesidad de mi comunidad y abrí mis puertas (literalmente) a las parejas que deseaban una ceremonia que reflejara tanto su idioma como su cultura.​

Como oficiante de bodas bilingüe, he tenido el privilegio único de unir a personas de diferentes idiomas, culturas y tradiciones. He estado frente a cientos de parejas: mexicanas, puertorriqueñas, salvadoreñas, guatemaltecas, dominicanas, venezolanas, colombianas ¡y muchas más! Ayudando a parejas de todo el mundo a fusionar familias, religiones y tradiciones en un momento inolvidable.

Ya sea que estemos presentando el lazo y las arras, votos personalizados o bendiciones bilingües, cada ceremonia refleja la verdad de que el amor no tiene fronteras. A lo largo de los años, he casado a parejas de todos los ámbitos, algunas de las cuales han viajado desde fuera del estado para que yo las casara, en patios, jardines y bajo arcos adornados con rosas blancas. He llorado, reído, bailado y rezado con familias. He visto a novios nerviosos transformarse en románticos con lágrimas en los ojos y a novias tímidas irradiar confianza al decir "Sí, acepto".

​Una de las partes más gratificantes de este viaje ha sido acompañar a parejas del mismo sexo mientras declaran su amor con valentía y belleza. He tenido el honor de oficiar bodas para parejas LGBTQIA+ que han luchado por el derecho a ser vistas, escuchadas y celebradas. Ha sido un privilegio ayudar a crear ceremonias que reflejan no solo a quién aman, sino también cómo aman, con autenticidad, orgullo y alegría. Estas ceremonias a menudo tienen un significado aún más profundo y me recuerdan por qué hago este trabajo. Lo que he aprendido en estos 16 años es esto: el amor es poderoso, la cultura es sagrada y las palabras dichas con el corazón pueden crear momentos que duran toda la vida.

Colombian dishes full of rich, bold flavors were served alongside classic American fare, creating a delicious harmony that mirrored the union taking place. It was more than just a meal; it was a feast of cultures, a table of love and legacy.
 
The night was filled with dancing, joy, and music that brought generations and cultures together. Watching guests sway to Latin beats one moment and sing along to familiar American favorites the next was a reminder of how love bridges every difference.

This year marked my 15th year as a bilingual wedding officiant. I am filled with joy to think of how many couples I’ve had the honor of uniting, how many vows I’ve witnessed exchanged, and how many traditions I’ve helped bring to life. Each ceremony, from intimate backyard elopements to grand ballroom celebrations, has been a unique chapter in this incredible journey as a bilingual wedding officiant.

In a world where love often faces unnecessary hurdles, I’ve had the incredible honor of marrying LGBTQIA+ couples across Oklahoma City. Despite the political climate, love continues to shine, and every couple deserves to celebrate their love and commitment. Traveling for Love
One of the most special aspects of this year was the opportunity to travel outside the state to Arkansas to marry a same-sex couple. In September, I had the privilege of officiating Bianca and Guadalupe’s wedding at Rancho Pegaso in Pocola, Oklahoma. Their story of love and resilience was an honor to tell, and their ceremony was a true celebration of unity and tradition.
 
Celebrating Multicultural Love
This year brought me the joy of marrying couples from various cultural backgrounds. From Mexican and Puerto Rican traditions to Salvadoran and Guatemalan unions, I’ve been reminded that love knows no borders. Whether incorporating the lazo and arras or creating ceremonies that blend different cultural elements, each wedding has been a beautiful reflection of the couple’s heritage and journey.
 
Couples Traveling for Me
It’s always an honor when couples choose me specifically to officiate their wedding—even traveling across the country to make it happen. This year, Steven and Vanessa journeyed all the way from Washington, DC, to exchange vows at the stunning Myriad Botanical Gardens in Oklahoma City. Knowing they trusted me to guide their special day was deeply meaningful.

From the Myriad Gardens to chic downtown venues, I’ve had the privilege of performing ceremonies at some of the most iconic spots in Oklahoma City. Each venue has its own magic, and I love working alongside talented vendors who share my passion for creating unforgettable moments.
  
Finding Joy in New Beginnings
This year marked my first year performing weddings without my mom by my side. While it’s been a bittersweet transition, her love and guidance continue to inspire everything I do.
 
Every ceremony reminds me of the values she instilled in me: love, compassion, and the importance of celebrating life’s most meaningful moments. She was big on celebrating every moment in life and I value that so much in the present. As I’ve stepped into this new chapter, I’ve discovered strength I didn’t know I had and joy in carrying forward her legacy in my own unique way.
 
Though I miss her deeply, I feel her presence in every smile, every vow, and every “I do.” Cheers to new beginnings, endless love, and the beautiful journey ahead.
 
 
Looking Ahead
As I reflect on this year, I am deeply grateful for every couple, every ceremony, and every memory we’ve created together. Fifteen years feels like a milestone, but I know it’s just the beginning of even more beautiful love stories to come.

It’s truly an honor and I am always astonished to be booked a year in advance! I am beyond excited to perform weddings across this beautiful state of Oklahoma and will be traveling more as a bilingual wedding officiant in 2025.
 
Each ceremony is a unique celebration of love, and I’m continually inspired by the couples I meet and the traditions I get to witness. From intimate gatherings to grand celebrations, I can’t wait to create meaningful moments that will be cherished forever.

A medida que el año llega a su fin, me lleno de gratitud y alegría al reflexionar sobre un increíble 2024 de ceremonias de boda. Este año ha sido un testimonio del poder del amor, la diversidad y la confianza que tantas parejas han hecho en mí para ser parte de sus momentos más preciados.

15 años de servicio
Este año marcó mi decimoquinto año como oficiante de bodas bilingüe. Me llena de alegría pensar en cuántas parejas he tenido el honor de unir, cuántos votos he presenciado intercambiados y cuántas tradiciones he ayudado a dar vida. Cada ceremonia, desde las íntimas escapadas en el patio trasero hasta las grandes celebraciones en el salón de baile, ha sido un capítulo único en este increíble viaje como oficiante de bodas bilingüe.

El amor no conoce límites
En un mundo donde el amor a menudo enfrenta obstáculos innecesarios, he tenido el increíble honor de casar a parejas LGBTQIA+ en la ciudad de Oklahoma. A pesar del clima político, el amor sigue brillando y cada pareja merece celebrar su amor y compromiso. Estoy orgullosa de apoyar a quienes eligen honrar su vínculo a través del matrimonio.

Cada ceremonia que realizo es un testimonio de la valentia y la resiliencia de quienes eligen el amor en lugar del miedo. Desde votos sinceros hasta tradiciones culturales preciadas, cada momento reafirma que el amor es universal y merece ser reconocido y celebrado.

A cada pareja que he tenido el privilegio de unir: gracias por confiarme sus historias y sus corazones. Juntos, estamos demostrando que el amor es imparable y que siempre prevalecerá.

Viajando por amor
Uno de los aspectos más especiales de este año fue la oportunidad de viajar fuera del estado a Arkansas para casar a una pareja del mismo sexo. En septiembre, tuve el privilegio de oficiar la boda de Bianca y Guadalupe en Rancho Pegaso en Pocola, Oklahoma. Fue un honor contar su historia de amor y resiliencia, y su ceremonia fue una verdadera celebración de unidad y tradición.

Celebrando el amor multicultural
Este año tuve la alegría de casar a parejas de diferentes orígenes culturales. Desde tradiciones mexicanas y puertorriqueñas hasta uniones salvadoreñas y guatemaltecas, recordé que el amor no conoce fronteras. Ya sea incorporando el lazo y las arras o creando ceremonias que combinan diferentes elementos culturales, cada boda ha sido un hermoso reflejo de la herencia y el viaje de la pareja.

Parejas que viajaron por mí
Siempre es un honor cuando las parejas me eligen específicamente para oficiar su boda, incluso viajando por todo el país para que suceda. Este año, Steven y Vanessa viajaron desde Washington, DC, para intercambiar votos en los impresionantes Myriad Botanical Gardens en Oklahoma City. Saber que confiaron en mí para guiar su día especial fue profundamente significativo.

Desde los Myriad Gardens hasta los elegantes lugares del centro, he tenido el privilegio de realizar ceremonias en algunos de los lugares más emblemáticos de la ciudad de Oklahoma. Cada lugar tiene su propia magia y me encanta trabajar junto a proveedores talentosos que comparten mi pasión por crear momentos inolvidables.

Encontrar alegría en los nuevos comienzos
Este año fue el primer año que realicé bodas sin mi mama a mi lado. Si bien ha sido una transición agridulce, su amor y su guía siguen inspirando todo lo que hago.

Cada ceremonia me recuerda los valores que me inculcó: amor, compasión y la importancia de celebrar los momentos más significativos de la vida. Ella celebraba cada momento de la vida y eso lo valoro mucho en el presente. A medida que avanzaba en este nuevo capítulo, descubrí una fuerza que no sabía que tenía y la alegría de llevar adelante su legado a mi manera única.

Aunque la extraño profundamente, siento su presencia en cada sonrisa, cada voto y cada "acepto". Brindemos por los nuevos comienzos, el amor infinito y el hermoso viaje que tenemos por delante.

Mirando hacia el futuro
Al reflexionar sobre este año, me siento profundamente agradecida por cada pareja, cada ceremonia y cada recuerdo que hemos creado juntos. Quince años se sienten como un hito, pero sé que es solo el comienzo de historias de amor aún más hermosas por venir.

¡Es realmente un honor y siempre me sorprende que me contraten con un año de anticipación! Estoy más que emocionada de realizar bodas en este hermoso estado de Oklahoma y viajaré más como oficiante de bodas bilingüe en 2025.

Cada ceremonia es una celebración única del amor y me inspiro continuamente en las parejas que conozco y las tradiciones que puedo presenciar. Desde reuniones íntimas hasta grandes celebraciones, no puedo esperar a crear momentos significativos que se atesorarán por siempre.

Vanessa and Steven’s love story is a beautiful testament to the power of two cultures coming together in celebration of unity and shared values.
