By Rev. Yareni AlvaradoCan you believe we made it through 2020?
What an emotional rollercoaster of a year it has been. As a wedding officiant, this year it was more evident that love conquers everything, and love overcomes all obstacles. I married couples from all walks of life during a global pandemic. Wearing facemasks, practicing social distancing, and virtual wedding ceremonies became the norm. At the beginning of the pandemic, I was so hesitant to even pursue being a wedding officiant. As I had so many questions and so little answers about COVID-19. I just kept asking myself, “how is life going to be like during a global pandemic?” However, couples still pursued me for my services regardless of being in a pandemic and as I was also healing from some health issues. Despite all those inconveniences, couples still hired me for their special day. I am grateful for the opportunity to be in an industry where I get to witness love on a daily basis. Even when the world feels upside down love is everywhere if you just pause for a moment and take a closer look. For 2021, don’t stop chasing happiness just because it is harder to get a hold of. I am grateful and blessed, that despite a pandemic people are still searching for my services. For now, I have limited availability for 2021 and 2022. I am currently booking through 2023. Lastly, thank you, to my family, friends, and vendors that continue to support me as a wedding officiant. Word of mouth beats social media any given day and I am truly grateful for all the referrals. Into the new year, I will continue practicing being the most amazing bilingual wedding officiant that I am known to be in Oklahoma City, OK. Cheers to 2021!
